Belfast: So, there was this plane that crash-landed at Belfast City Airport. It was a bit of a wild ride, with winds hitting up to 50mph. The ATR 72 jet, operated by Emerald Airlines for Aer Lingus, was trying to land when things went sideways.

The crew was on board, but thankfully, there were no passengers. During the landing, the nose gear seemed to give way, which made for a pretty dramatic scene. Luckily, all four crew members were fine, which is a relief.

After the incident, all flights in and out of the airport were either canceled or diverted for the rest of the day. The plane is now parked at the airport, and it’s unclear when it’ll be back in action.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch is on the case, and they mentioned that the aircraft hasn’t been moved yet because they need to do more checks. These investigations can take a while, sometimes up to a year, so it’s still early days for updates.

Emerald Airlines said the jet was coming in from Edinburgh when it hit some rough weather. They’re keeping things under wraps for now and won’t be saying much more until they know more.
