Inverness: So, guess what? Dunain House is going up for auction again next month! It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster since it didn’t sell last time.

This old building used to be a hospital until it got damaged by a fire back in 2014. It’s got a lot of history, dating back to the mid-18th century. Originally, it was a private home before becoming part of the Craig Dunain psychiatric hospital.

The place is listed as a category B building, but it got downgraded to category C in 2020. It’s being marketed as having potential for development, which is pretty exciting. The guide price is still £295,000, just like last time.

The auction is set for February 18 at 2:30 PM. If you’re interested, you’ll need to pre-register to bid. The property sits on about 5.85 acres, with a nice access road leading up to it. It’s surrounded by some lovely mature woodland, too.

So, if you’re looking for a project, this could be your chance! Just make sure you get the right planning consent if you want to redevelop it. Sounds like a unique opportunity, right?
