Winwick: A nine-year-old boy named Evan Robinson is making a big difference in his community. While most kids are cozy at home, Evan is out there gritting paths to keep everyone safe during the icy weather.

You can often see him with his dad, Ian, in their gritting wagon. They make sure places like St Oswald’s Church and local driveways are safe for everyone. It’s pretty heartwarming to see a kid so dedicated to helping others.

Evan’s mom, Sarah, is super proud of him. She says his energy and big heart really shine through in what he does. He was diagnosed with ADHD, but he channels that enthusiasm into something meaningful, and the locals really appreciate it.

His dad, Ian, has a friend who runs a gritting service, so they’ve turned this into a family project. Ian loves having Evan by his side, and it’s clear that Evan enjoys every minute of it. He’s always eager to jump out and get to work, whether it’s spreading grit or checking in on neighbors.

This isn’t Evan’s first time helping out, either. He started volunteering to grit paths for Royal Mail when he was just five years old. He told his mom, “I like helping my dad and making people happy.”

On top of that, Evan is also lending a hand at his dad’s scaffolding business, Diamond Scaffolding. He’s learning the ropes and helping with small tasks, which is impressive for someone his age.

It’s amazing to see how hardworking he is, and it’s clear that he’s making a positive impact in Winwick.
