Chester: Fans all over the UK are heartbroken after the loss of The Vivienne, who passed away at just 32 years old earlier this month.

The Vivienne, born James Lee Williams, had an incredible career. They were the UK Ambassador for RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2015 and competed in the first UK series in 2019. In 2023, they made history as the first drag performer on Dancing on Ice.

With a name inspired by the legendary designer Vivienne Westwood, The Vivienne was all about style and luxury. Sadly, it was in their stunning home where they were found dead.

At the time of their passing, The Vivienne was living in the six-bedroom Chorlton Manor House near Chester, which they had been preparing to leave for a new £400,000 property.

This beautiful Georgian home is described as a perfect escape, with its classic features and spacious grounds. It even has a fancy oak-panelled study and several grand reception rooms for entertaining. But despite all this, it seems The Vivienne was living there alone.

Tragically, it was at this lavish property that their father and stepmother found them on January 5. A police spokesperson confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

After the heartbreaking discovery, a source shared that The Vivienne’s dad believed they had passed away a day or two before being found. They had so much planned, including a house move and a holiday.

In Liverpool, hundreds of fans gathered to honor The Vivienne, leaving their loved ones overwhelmed by the love shown. The vigil took place at St George’s Hall, with many fellow Drag Race stars in attendance.

Buildings were lit up in green to pay tribute to The Vivienne, who had recently played the Wicked Witch of the West in a touring production of The Wizard of Oz. Balloons were released in a touching remembrance.

A family friend read a heartfelt statement, expressing how overwhelmed they were by the love for James, The Vivienne. They shared how James was destined for the stage from a young age and always believed they would make it happen. Their family will miss them forever.
