Hull: Last week, Hull KR and Wakefield Trinity made a player swap deal. Young talents moved between the two clubs, creating excitement.
Swap deals always spark interest. Clubs trading players can lead to debates. Sometimes, one club benefits more than the other.
It’s too early to tell who wins this trade. Hull KR sent winger Neil Tchamambe to Wakefield. In return, they got Noah Booth. This was a standalone deal.
Hull KR usually acts fast in recruitment. They’ve already signed Arthur Mourgue from Catalans Dragons. They also secured Connor Wynne for 2025.
Rovers focus on younger players to balance their squad. CEO Paul Lakin mentioned adding quality to younger areas. Noah Booth fits this strategy.
Booth was off-contract at the end of the year. Hull KR negotiated a four-year deal for him, starting next season.
Agent Craig Harrison learned about the deal and took action. He represents Tchamambe and helped him move from Leeds Rhinos to Hull KR last year.
Harrison felt Tchamambe’s chances were limited at Hull KR. With new signings, he thought Wakefield would be a better fit for his client.
Harrison spoke to Lakin, and they agreed on the swap. It made sense for both clubs, and they finalized the deal.
Even though Tchamambe didn’t play for Rovers, Harrison believes he gained valuable experience. The standards at Hull KR are high, which benefits players.
This isn’t the first trade between these clubs. Less than two years ago, Corey Hall joined Rovers, and Will Dagger went to Trinity. The latest players are likely to stay longer.
