She was in court recently and pleaded guilty to a couple of serious charges. Apparently, she accessed the Queensland Health computer system while working in payroll and snagged details from three driver’s licenses. That’s a big no-no!
This all went down back in 2017, and she got those licenses for her boyfriend to score mobile phones for his drug dealing gig. Talk about a bad choice!
The prosecutor called her actions “very dishonest,” but she did come clean to both her employer and the police before they even started investigating. That’s something, right?
The magistrate wasn’t too lenient, though. He said her actions were too serious for just a slap on the wrist. He emphasized how important it is to protect privacy in the health system.
Her lawyer argued that she was young and in an abusive relationship at the time, which played a role in her decisions. But the magistrate pointed out that she still made a choice, and it was the wrong one.
In the end, she got fined $3,000, but no convictions were recorded. It’s a crazy story that really makes you think about the lengths some people will go to.
