Local schools and colleges joined in, with students eager to help out. The goal was to create a sense of shared responsibility for keeping our beaches clean and safe for marine life.
Inspector General Bhisham Sharma praised everyone for their enthusiasm. He pointed out that this wasn’t just a regular cleanup; it was a reminder of how we all need to pitch in to protect our coastal biodiversity.
Various groups, like the Ismaili Civic Group and National Social Services, got involved too. There were even some cool performances, like Mallakhamb and Kalaripayattu, which added a fun cultural twist to the day.
As the cleanup went on, you could really see the difference. The beach started looking better, showing how much we can achieve when we work together for a good cause.
This drive is just one of many events leading up to the Coast Guard’s big day on February 1, 2025. They plan to keep hosting similar initiatives along the west coast of India, highlighting their commitment to marine conservation.
