India Coast Guard undertakes special beach cleanup drive at Girgaon Chowpatty

Mumbai: The Indian Coast Guard recently held a special cleanup drive at Girgaon Chowpatty. This event was part of their preparations for the 49th Raising Day celebrations. It was all about protecting our coastal environment.

Local schools and colleges joined in, with students eager to help out. The goal was to create a sense of shared responsibility for keeping our beaches clean and safe for marine life.

Inspector General Bhisham Sharma praised everyone for their enthusiasm. He pointed out that this wasn’t just a regular cleanup; it was a reminder of how we all need to pitch in to protect our coastal biodiversity.

Various groups, like the Ismaili Civic Group and National Social Services, got involved too. There were even some cool performances, like Mallakhamb and Kalaripayattu, which added a fun cultural twist to the day.
