Swindon: A few recent cases from the local magistrates court have caught some attention.
First up, there’s Lenim Silvino from Haydon End. This 19-year-old got into serious trouble for indecent exposure on a bus back in January. He’s now waiting for his sentencing at the Crown Court.
Then we have Martin Bradford from East Wichel. This 47-year-old couldn’t resist shoplifting from a Co-op. He stole some fries and a case of Madris, totaling just £16, but that’s not all. He had a whole list of thefts from the same store over the past few months. He got a suspended prison sentence, which is a bit of a warning for him.
Next is Hayden Wesley from Shrivenham. He was found guilty of assaulting someone last October. Even though he pleaded not guilty, he’s now got to pay a hefty fine and some compensation.
Martin Morgan from Park North also had his day in court. He stole perfume and broke a behavior order. He’s been fined and now has restrictions on where he can go in town.
Matthew Glover from Toothill faced charges for trying to steal alcohol and using threatening language. He’s been given a community order and has to do some rehabilitation work.
Lastly, there’s Rebecca Cole from the town center, who was caught shoplifting cream and electrical goods. She’s got to pay back what she stole.
And in Calne, Darren Wells was in trouble for assaulting emergency workers while being drunk. He’s also been ordered to pay compensation.
It’s a mixed bag of cases, but it shows how the local courts are dealing with crime in the area.
