In court from Newport, Pontypool, Tredegar and Caldicot

Pontypool: Andrea Smith, 64, from Pontnewynydd, was banned from driving for 14 months. She pleaded guilty to drink driving with 44 microgrammes of alcohol in her breath. This happened on January 15.

She has to pay £253 in fines and costs.

Newport’s Nicholas Stylianides was banned for six months. He was caught speeding at 26mph in a 20mph zone on March 24 last year. He must pay £538 in fines and costs.

Robert Gillard, 58, from Pontypool, was fined £175 for speeding at 50mph in a 40mph zone on February 19 last year. He received three penalty points on his driving record.

Sean Andrew Evans, 40, from Caerphilly, was fined £734 for using a handheld mobile phone while driving on January 24 last year. He got six penalty points on his record.

Daniel Ieuan Williams, 37, from Caerphilly, was fined £304 for speeding at 58mph in a 50mph zone on the M4 on February 20 last year. He also received three penalty points.

Alex Emmerson, 41, from Caldicot, was disqualified for six months. He failed to provide information about a driver involved in an offense. He must pay £1,014 in fines and costs.

Trystan Hallam, 44, from Tredegar, was fined £190 for speeding at 48mph in a 40mph zone on March 26 last year. He received three penalty points.

Andrew Wisdom, 62, from Newport, was fined £190 for speeding at 58mph in a 50mph zone on the M4 on March 26 last year. He also got three penalty points.

Lastly, Shaun O’Brien, 36, from Caldicot, was fined £244 for using a handheld device while driving on the A449 in Newport on March 31 last year. He received six penalty points.
