Southern Ontario: This weekend is wrapping up with some pretty messy weather. A system from the U.S. is sliding in, bringing rain and even some icy conditions.
After a lovely sunny start, Sunday is looking a bit gloomy. We might see rain, and there’s a chance of freezing rain or a mix of rain and snow, which could throw a wrench in any travel plans.
Weather alerts are out from Lake Huron to the northern Greater Toronto Area for freezing rain and drizzle later in the day. So, if you’re heading out, be careful—roads and sidewalks could get slippery.
It’s a good idea to take it slow if you’re driving. The freezing rain could lead to some delays, especially in the areas most affected.
As the day goes on, places like Windsor will be the first to get those rain showers, while London will see them in the afternoon. Temperatures are fluctuating, which means surfaces could be extra slick.
After this rain, milder temperatures will roll in, melting any snow or ice that might have built up. But don’t get too comfy—another cold front is on the way later next week.
Looking ahead, it seems like we might have a mild stretch leading up to Christmas, but we’re keeping an eye on the potential for colder weather in January. Stay tuned for updates!
