London: I’ve never really been into monster trucks, but they’ve always intrigued me. I’ve only seen them in ads or on TV, so when I got invited to the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow-N-Fire show, I was super curious.

Honestly, I didn’t even know there were monster truck shows in the UK, let alone indoor ones at The O2. So, off we went, making a quick pit stop at Toca Social, which was a blast. I usually just wander around the O2, checking out the shops.

The O2 is like a TARDIS, fitting a huge concert venue inside while hiding behind all those shops and restaurants. The seats were comfy, and getting in was way easier than at most football games.

Even though the show was set to kick off at 6:30 PM, the fun started an hour earlier. The presenters, decked out in colorful LED outfits, really made it feel like a party.

The show is definitely aimed at kids, with cartoons on the screens and the crowd getting into it by waving their arms like sharks for one of the favorites, TigerShark. But when the lights go down, it gets pretty intense.

The noise from the engines is deafening, the special effects are mind-blowing, and those trucks are massive! They compete in wild challenges like doughnuts, high jumps, and lots of destruction.

The stunts are set to dramatic music, from heavy metal to Katy Perry. Just when I was getting into the chaos, the lights came on for an intermission.

It makes sense since most of the audience was under 10. They’d probably get bored or scared without a break and the silly antics of the presenters to keep them entertained. The show has enough excitement for adults, but the goofy jokes make it a perfect family outing.

The whole experience is over the top, with dramatic reveals and funny mishaps. It’s so colorful and bizarre that you can’t help but feel like a kid again.

Just a tip: bring earplugs! The trucks are so loud that it feels like your heart is vibrating. You can find some good ones on Amazon.

The Hot Wheels Monster Truck Live show is at The O2 until January 12. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, AXS, and Live Nation.
