Staffordshire: Kacey bravely shared her story of abuse. She realized she had to make it stop. Her partner raped and abused her, using guilt to manipulate her.
In 2023, Kacey faced the worst experience of her life. She never expected this from someone she loved. It was shocking and painful.
He convinced her he needed her and would change. But Kacey learned that people like him rarely change. It’s a tough lesson to accept.
In March 2024, Kacey contacted Staffordshire Police. She knew she had to act to end the abuse. It was a brave step for her.
She praised the police for their support. They treated her with care and respect. Kacey felt grateful for their help throughout the process.
Her abuser was arrested and sentenced to 13 years in prison. Kacey hopes her story encourages others to seek help.
As part of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness 2025, she advises others to report abuse immediately. It’s important to get help and know it’s not your fault.
