Molly Thomas was helping her neighbour, a former media production worker. She shared her experience on TikTok, saying she didn’t expect to find anything unusual.
Molly discovered a postcard featuring the face of Jimmy Savile, a notorious sex predator. The postcard had “PTO” written on it, which piqued her curiosity.
Flipping the postcard revealed a message from Savile himself. He referred to a rare picture of “AHAB,” a character from his 1962 song, Ahab the Arab.
People reacted with surprise to Molly’s find. Many noted that Savile had deceived many with his charming persona. One commenter said, “It’s not your neighbour’s fault; Savile fooled the nation.”
Molly agreed, stating her neighbour likely wouldn’t have worked with Savile if he had known the truth. She mentioned that she had never heard any negative stories about him.
Others shared their own stories about Savile. One person joked about the rarity of such a find, while another recalled a photo of their grandmother with him, looking displeased.
After Savile’s death in 2011, it was revealed that he had sexually abused many victims. He was a well-known figure in British entertainment, famous for shows like Top of the Pops and Jim’ll Fix It.
Despite his public persona as a charitable celebrity, serious allegations of abuse emerged after his death. An ITV investigation uncovered shocking claims of his long history of sexual abuse.
Hundreds of victims came forward, revealing that Savile had abused individuals of all ages for decades. Following these revelations, UK police launched Operation Yewtree to investigate Savile and other historical abuse cases.
By 2013, police confirmed that Savile had sexually abused at least 450 people, making him one of the UK’s most prolific sex offenders.
