Pembroke: Lee Herring, 31, lost 12 stone in a year. He realized his weight affected his health while working as a community carer. At his heaviest, he weighed 25 stone 1 pound and wore size 5XL clothes. His diet was full of junk food like chocolate and takeaways.

After seeing the impact of health issues on others, Lee decided to change. He swapped junk food for lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables. He also started walking daily. At first, he struggled with breathlessness, but now he walks for up to 90 minutes and does cardio on the treadmill.

Now, Lee weighs 12 stone 9 pounds and wears a medium size. He’s focusing on strength training to tone up. He shared that his old job made him realize the importance of health. He faced challenges like joint pain and breathlessness before his weight loss journey.

Lee used to wear 5XL clothes and had to shop online. Now, he can try on clothes in stores, which gives him more freedom. He aims to reach a goal weight of around 75 kg. Although his weight loss has slowed, he’s happy with his progress and wants to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

His motivation was to be there for his friends and family. He didn’t want them to worry about his health. Despite wanting to give up at times, he feels it’s been worth it. Lee emphasizes that this journey was about health, not just appearance.
