London: Christmas in London is just magical, especially when you treat yourself to afternoon tea at The Corinthia. This hotel really knows how to create a festive atmosphere.
Picture this: you’re sipping tea under a stunning chandelier in the Crystal Moon Lounge, surrounded by gold decor and the sound of a pianist playing holiday tunes. It’s a vibe!
I’ve tried a bunch of afternoon teas this year, but The Corinthia’s stood out. It just felt extra special, you know? We kicked things off with a glass of fizz to get into the festive spirit.
They had a fantastic selection of teas, from classic black to unique flavors like Mango and Chocolate. It was hard to choose!
The afternoon tea is served in stages, which is great because it gives you time to savor each bite. We started with finger sandwiches, featuring both traditional options like Smoked Salmon and some fun twists like Turkey and Parmesan.
Then came my favorite, a Festive Sausage roll that was perfectly seasoned. And if you love something, you can always ask for more!
Next up was the sweet stuff. I went for the Chocolate Tea, which was rich and smooth. It’s definitely something to share, especially with all the sweets coming your way.
The freshly baked scones were a treat, served with classic Strawberry Jam and Cornish Clotted Cream, plus a Festive Spices Jam that I absolutely loved.
They brought out the sweets on a trolley, and let me tell you, they were gorgeous! Seasonal flavors like chocolate and spiced plum made it even better.
Some highlights were the Tahitian Vanilla Snow Globe and Black Forest Gâteau. One was light and airy, while the other was rich and indulgent.
We also tried the Mont-Blanc Choux and a Plum & Amaretto Tartlet, which really captured the Christmas spirit.
To wrap it all up, we enjoyed a Pecan and Vanilla Cake and a spicy ginger Christmas Cookie. Everything was so delicious, and I loved the variety of festive flavors.
This afternoon tea felt sophisticated and intimate, perfect for a celebration or a special occasion during the holiday season. If you’re in London, don’t miss out!
The Festive Afternoon Tea at The Crystal Moon Lounge runs daily from 1pm to 5:30pm until January 5, starting at £99 for the standard experience.
