London: Mould, especially that pesky black type, can be a real pain in the neck. I’ve struggled with it in my spare room, and it just wouldn’t budge.
Not only does it look terrible, but it can also mess with your allergies. I tried everything—baking soda, vinegar, even bleach—but nothing worked. So, I decided to give a special mould remover a shot.
I picked up Cillit Bang Black Mould Remover, which claims to be “10 times better than bleach.” You can grab it for about £3 at Poundland or £4 at places like Tesco and Amazon.
After reading glowing reviews from Mrs. Hinch fans, I was hopeful this would do the trick, as reported by the Express.
The product’s website boasts that it’s the top black mould remover in Britain and can wipe out 100% of visible mould. It also claims to have ten times the cleaning power of bleach, promising a sparkling clean home.
Before diving in, I made sure to air out the room by opening all the windows and wore a mask to avoid breathing in any chemicals.
To my surprise, the mould vanished in minutes! Just a heads up, I forgot to wear gloves, which is a good idea to keep the chemicals off your skin.
Using the spray was easy. I set the nozzle to “on,” held it about 20cm away, and sprayed the affected areas. Just be careful not to accidentally spray when it’s in the “off” position, or it might spit.
Within a minute, most of the mould was gone. After two more minutes, I wiped the area clean, and the remaining mould came off effortlessly.
No scrubbing was needed, and thankfully, the paint on the walls stayed intact.
After rinsing the cloth, I went over the spot again to remove any leftover chemicals and help clear the smell faster.
Now, I use this spray monthly to keep mould at bay, and it’s been working wonders.
If you’re looking for alternatives, there are other mould sprays out there that folks have had success with, like HG Mould Remover for £4.60 on Amazon or Astonish Mould Blaster for just £2 at Dunelm.
