Rochdale: A young woman, known as Girl B, opened up in court about her past. She told police she felt pressured to do whatever the men wanted during the abuse.
This was the first time jurors heard her story. Eight men are on trial for serious sexual offenses against her and another girl, referred to as Girl A.
The alleged abuse happened between 2001 and 2006. The accused are mostly taxi drivers and market traders in the area.
During her police interviews, Girl B described feeling lost and confused. She recalled being in a house in Oldham, where she was abused after having a few drinks.
She said, “I didn’t understand a word they were saying.” One man led her upstairs, and she felt she had to comply.
Girl B mentioned, “I thought it was alright.” At that time, she didn’t realize it wasn’t normal behavior.
She expressed feelings of being trapped, saying, “I can’t move” and “I don’t know what to do.” When asked about her actions, she said she felt it was her duty to comply.
She added, “It was just expected” that she would do what they wanted. The trial is ongoing, and the testimonies are deeply troubling.
