London: So, there’s this guy, Lenny McLean, right? He was known as “Britain’s hardest man.” His reputation was something else. A friend of his, Micky Theo, shared some wild stories about him.
Micky said Lenny would literally growl and froth at the mouth when he was collecting debts. Can you imagine that? He was a massive guy, standing at 6ft 3in and weighing 20 stone. Just the sight of him was enough to scare people.
On a podcast, Micky talked about how he once helped Lenny collect over £100k. He joked that it was easy with Lenny backing him up. Just having Lenny on the phone made things happen. People would pay up fast when they heard his name.
It wasn’t just about being tough, though. Micky mentioned that having the right paperwork made a big difference. If you had that, you could sit down and explain what was owed without too much hassle.
Micky got into this line of work after spending years working as a bouncer in London clubs. He was no slouch himself, thanks to his bodybuilding and boxing background. He even learned to box under Lenny’s guidance.
They were close friends, and Micky drove Lenny around while he was filming a documentary. Sadly, Lenny passed away from cancer in 1998, but he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
People were often shocked by Lenny’s size when they met him. Micky recalled how powerful he was but also how he was a good guy if you treated him right. He only bullied those who deserved it, in his eyes.
Before he died, Lenny even had a role in Guy Ritchie’s film “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.” Micky spent a lot of time with him in his final days, reminiscing about their adventures and how much Lenny loved food and life.
