Middlesbrough: So, there’s this really unsettling story about a guy named Andy Boyle. He wouldn’t take no for an answer after a colleague turned down his drink invite. He even left her a voice message saying, “I am Andy Boyle, I’ve never had a no.” Can you believe that?

For a whole year, he bombarded her with messages and calls, making her feel unsafe. It all started when she politely declined his offer because she was in a happy relationship. But instead of moving on, he just kept pushing.

Boyle worked as a healthcare assistant and met her at Roseberry Park Hospital. After she said no, he started messaging her on Facebook. When she blocked him, he tried reaching out on other platforms and even began emailing her at work.

He called her names for not responding and insisted he wouldn’t accept her rejection. He even changed his work shifts to match hers and spread nasty rumors about her. It’s just awful.

When she finally reported him to the police, he didn’t listen to their warnings. He got arrested in July 2023 and is now facing serious consequences. The court is set to hear his case in January 2025.

The poor woman is living in fear now. She used to be so confident and outgoing, but now she’s constantly looking over her shoulder. The judge sentenced Boyle to 22 months in prison and issued a restraining order against him.

Detective Constable Yasmeen Hussain spoke out about how Boyle’s actions ruined her life. It’s heartbreaking to think about the lasting impact this kind of harassment can have. If you or someone you know is dealing with something similar, don’t hesitate to reach out for help.
