Kidderminster: So, here’s the scoop. Community Housing has decided to tear down three tall buildings on Hurcott Road. They’re called Coniston House, Windermere House, and Derwent House. This is all happening in 2023.
They’re looking out for the 70+ families who will be affected by this change. The housing association is working hard to find new places for everyone to live.
Recently, they shared an update saying they’ll hold a meeting to chat with tenants about the demolition plans. It’s a good chance for everyone to get the lowdown on what’s going to happen.
On Facebook, they mentioned they’re hosting two info sessions. They want to make sure everyone can come and stay in the loop about the project.
These sessions will cover how the demolition will go down and give folks a chance to ask any burning questions they might have.
The meeting is set for St George’s Annexe on Radford Avenue, and it’s happening on Wednesday, January 15. There will be two times: one at 10am and another at 6pm.
Community Housing, which helps provide homes in Wyre Forest, has said it’s just not practical to keep these buildings around any longer. They’re also planning to redevelop the area with some new, energy-efficient homes.
