Swansea: A new Wingstop restaurant opened, and people were excited. They lined up outside for hours. Some arrived as early as 6 AM, five hours before the doors opened.
The first 100 customers could get free food. They could choose between eight wings or eight boneless wings. Gwyn Griffiths, 22, was one of those waiting.
Gwyn loves Wingstop and has been there many times. He hoped to snag some free wings but arrived too late. He said, “Now we’re just here for some chicken wings.”
Another customer, 23-year-old Alexandra Eve, was also eager to try the new spot. She had enjoyed Wingstop before and decided to check it out while shopping.
Alexandra said, “We saw the queue and thought, why not? I really like their garlic Parmesan chicken.” This Wingstop is the second in Wales, following the Cardiff location.
The Swansea restaurant opened after the Cardiff one did well. Wingstop offers a variety of chicken wings with different flavors, from mild to hot.
Wings can be ordered in portions of eight, 10, or 12. Tenders come in servings of three or five. Each order includes a dip on the side.
Malachy O’Keeffe, the head of marketing, mentioned the success in Cardiff led to this new location. He believes there’s a strong demand for their wings and flavors.
He added that they aim to open more stores in Wales. They plan to grow sustainably and expect to launch over 20 new locations this year.
