East Kilbride: A big fire has erupted at a restaurant, and it’s causing quite a scene. Emergency crews are rushing to get it under control.
This all kicked off on Wednesday, January 15, when the alarm went off. Four fire engines zoomed over to Westwood Square to tackle the flames.
It looks like the fire started inside a restaurant, and it’s been quite a sight. People nearby have been sharing videos showing the flames getting out of hand before the firefighters arrived.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service got the call at 5:21 PM and quickly sent four appliances to the scene. They wrapped up their work around 7:07 PM after making sure everything was safe.
Meanwhile, the road next to the restaurant was closed for about three hours while the firefighters did their thing. Police confirmed it was reopened just before 8 PM.
In a social media update, Police Scotland mentioned they received the fire report around 5:30 PM. They advised drivers to find different routes since Redcliffe Drive was closed.
