Cheltenham: Drivers are getting used to a new mini-roundabout on the A435 Evesham Road. It’s right at the junction with Wellington Road, and it’s a bit of a change.

The traffic lights at this busy spot have been turned off, so folks will notice a different flow. Don’t worry, though; this roundabout is just temporary. They’re planning to put in new pedestrian crossings and traffic signals soon.

The county council is reminding everyone to take it easy when approaching the new setup and to give way to other vehicles. This route is super important for people coming in and out of town.

Just a heads up, the road was closed overnight for the work, and footpaths around the junction were also shut down. So, if you were out and about, you might have noticed the changes.

On another note, if you’re driving elsewhere in the county, be prepared for a long detour of about 12 miles. A small section of the A40 is closed for urgent roadworks, affecting London Road in Charlton Kings from tonight into Friday morning.

And don’t forget, there are temporary traffic lights on the A436 at Barber Wood, near Ullenwood, until January 17 due to some drainage work. So, expect a few delays there too.
