SANTA CLARA: The 49ers had a rough night against the Lions. They started strong but couldn’t keep it up. It was a real rollercoaster of a game.

Brock Purdy had a decent outing, throwing for a career-high 377 yards. He was under pressure a lot but still managed to make some big plays. Rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall really shined, catching eight passes and scoring a touchdown. George Kittle also did his thing, catching everything thrown his way.

But the running game? Not so great. They only managed 75 yards on 18 carries. That’s not going to cut it. On defense, they had some bright spots but let Lions’ running back Jahmyr Gibbs run wild for 117 yards.

Jared Goff had a solid game too, throwing for three touchdowns. The 49ers need to tighten things up if they want to bounce back. It’s all about consistency, right?
