People nearby saw fire engines, police cars, and ambulances all lined up along the street. It was quite a scene, and several homes had to be temporarily cleared out.
The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service showed up, along with Cadent Gas, to check things out. They taped off the area while they investigated what was going on.
Fire crews were on the scene for just over an hour. So far, we don’t have all the details about what caused the leak.
A spokesperson from the fire service mentioned that they arrived quickly, evacuated nearby homes, and worked with Cadent Gas and the police to ensure everyone was safe. They were there for about an hour and ten minutes.
