Perth: A victim of a dog attack in a quiet cul-de-sac is speaking out. They say police were warned about the aggressive dog last year.
On Friday afternoon, a bull-type dog got loose and started biting people in Cara Place, North Muirton. Five folks ended up in the hospital.
It took a bunch of police officers and a special dog unit to finally sedate the animal, which has since been put down. Witnesses described the dog as randomly attacking anyone nearby.
It took over 15 minutes for the specialists to get the situation under control. Thankfully, everyone who was hospitalized is now back home, and there were no serious injuries.
But one victim, who prefers to stay anonymous, shared that they were left with five puncture wounds and chunks of skin missing from their leg. They were just walking to pick up their daughter when the chaos started.
They said, “The dog was already attacking someone else when it came for me. I tried to protect myself, but it just kept biting.”
Another woman was also bitten and knocked to the ground. The whole thing was completely unprovoked.
The victim mentioned that their clothes were shredded, including their new Nike shoes, which cost a pretty penny. They now have scars on their leg and find it hard to walk.
What really worries them is what could have happened if a child had been around. It could have been a lot worse.
They also pointed out that this was the fourth time the dog had attacked in recent months. A local resident confirmed that police had been called about the dog before.
One neighbor recalled a time when an Amazon delivery driver had to hide behind a bin to escape the dog. The driver was really shaken up, and the police were notified about the dangerous animal.
It’s frustrating for residents who feel like their warnings went unheard. The Courier tried to reach the dog’s owner, but they were reportedly very upset about the dog being put down.
Police stated they couldn’t find any record of previous attacks. A spokesperson confirmed that they received a report about the biting incident on Friday and that inquiries are still ongoing.
