Horden: If you’re on the hunt for a new home but your wallet’s feeling a bit light, you might want to check out Horden. It’s been named one of the cheapest spots in the UK to buy a house.

As of October 2024, the average house price in the UK hit a staggering £308,781, with London leading the pack at £520,000. But don’t worry, there are places where you can snag a home for much less.

A recent survey by OMS looked at average house prices from March 2024 and found some real bargains. Horden, for instance, has an average price of just £53,750, making it a great option for budget-conscious buyers.

Other affordable areas include Barkerend West & Little Germany in Bradford at £52,909 and North Ormesby & Brambles in Middlesbrough at £60,500. It’s nice to see some options out there for folks looking to get on the property ladder without breaking the bank.

Interestingly, while many homes saw a price increase in 2024, some areas still faced declines. Richard Donnell from Zoopla mentioned that the housing market is bouncing back, but it varies quite a bit across the country.

So, if you’re thinking about moving, Horden could be a solid choice. Plus, supporting local journalism is always a good idea, so don’t forget to check out the Northern Echo’s latest offers!
