Rochester: So, guess what? Honey Baked Ham Company just had its grand opening in Northwest Rochester! Even though they’ve been open for a couple of months, they finally threw a big celebration.
This place is the first Honey Baked Ham in Rochester, and it’s not just about sandwiches. They’re located at 3462 55th St. NW, right near Sam’s Club. The company has been around since 1957, and they’re known for their pre-cooked meats, sides, and desserts.
They opened up in November 2024, but the grand opening was delayed a bit because of the holiday rush. Turns out, Thanksgiving and Christmas are super busy times for them, and they did really well during those holidays.
Matt Davis, the franchisee, mentioned that they had to wait to advertise until they were sure they could open. He said they had a great holiday season and that Easter is even bigger for them, so they’re looking forward to that.
Even though they’ve only been open for a short time, Matt and his team are really pumped about this location. They started planning over two years ago when Matt thought Rochester would be a great spot for the franchise.
He recalled how he was scouting locations on July 4th two years ago. After a long search, they finally found a spot in spring last year, and construction kicked off in September.
Honey Baked Ham has a ton of options. They’re famous for their pre-made meats, but they also have desserts and sides. Matt can’t wait for everyone in Rochester to try their meals.
He proudly said, “Our hams are the world’s best!” They smoke them for 24 hours and glaze them right in the store. Plus, their turkeys are just as amazing, sliced and glazed too. And don’t forget about the sandwiches!
During the grand opening, folks could enter giveaways, chat with the team, and enjoy a 20% discount on everything. A lot of people showed up to celebrate and sample the food. It was also a great chance for Honey Baked Ham to connect with the community.
Matt emphasized how important it is for them to give back. They partnered with the Ronald McDonald House for this opening and even presented them with a $2,000 check. He’s excited to keep building that relationship as they learn more about the community.
Overall, Matt said it’s been fantastic. Many people have come in, especially those driving up from the Twin Cities, and the feedback has been really positive.
