Homes Evacuated After WWII Bombs Found at Sydenham Construction Site
Residents were evacuated in Sydenham after WWII bombs were discovered at a construction site, causing a temporary safety alert.

Sydenham: So, there was this pretty wild situation today. Homes in Sydenham had to be evacuated because they found what looked like WWII bombs.
This all went down near Perry Hill, close to the Bell Green Shopping Centre, just before 1:50 PM. Can you imagine the chaos?
Police showed up quickly and cleared out the area while they checked out the suspicious items. Safety first, right?
Once they figured everything out and removed the items, they lifted the cordons not long after. Phew!
One resident, who wanted to stay anonymous, shared with the News Shopper that they were evacuated from their flat. They said it was a scary experience, but thankfully, they were allowed back in.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police confirmed that they got the call about the potential bombs at 1:52 PM. They set up a cordon and evacuated everyone in the area.
After the items were taken care of, they lifted the cordon. Just another day in the life, I guess!
