Holyhead: Great news for travelers! The port is reopening this Thursday, and ferry services to Dublin are back on track after a rough few weeks. It’s been a bit of a wait since Storm Darragh caused some serious damage, but things are finally looking up.

So, what happened? Well, Terminal 3 took quite a hit during the storm, and there’s even a video showing part of the platform collapsing as a ferry was leaving. Yikes! Terminal 5 is set to reopen soon, but Terminal 3 will need some repairs before it can welcome passengers again.

When the ferries start sailing again, there will be a full schedule of eight trips in each direction. However, for the first few days, only six sailings will happen due to some maintenance on one of the Irish Ferries vessels. The first ferry to leave Holyhead will be the WB Yeats at 1:30 AM on Thursday. Early birds, rejoice!

Once everything is back to normal, Irish Ferries will have departures throughout the day, and they’re encouraging folks to check their website for the latest updates. Stena Line also has plans for four daily sailings starting mid-January, so there’s plenty of options coming up.

It’s a relief to see things getting back to normal, and I’m sure many are looking forward to hopping on a ferry again. Safe travels, everyone!
