Holyhead: Great news for travelers! The ferry terminal is reopening tomorrow, which means ferry services will be back in action. It’s been a tough time since Storm Darragh hit Wales in early December and caused quite a bit of damage.

Before Christmas, all ferry services at the North Wales port were canceled. This really threw a wrench in plans for many folks trying to get home for the holidays. Deliveries were delayed, and it was just a mess.

Both terminal 3 and terminal 5 were affected, but the good news is that berth 5 will be back up and running tomorrow. Stena Line and Irish Ferries will be operating with an adjusted schedule, offering eight daily sailings. Terminal 3 is still closed for now.

Last week, Irish Taoiseach Simon Harris and Welsh First Minister Eluned Morgan had a chat about the port’s reopening. They were both relieved to hear that services would resume, depending on the weather, of course. But now it’s official!

Stena Line has already listed the first service leaving Holyhead at 4 am. There’s also a ferry coming in from Dublin at 2 am. So, if you’re planning to travel, you’re in luck!

A spokesperson for Holyhead Port mentioned they’re focused on getting Terminal 5 back in action and will update us on Terminal 3 soon. They’re committed to making sure Holyhead has a strong future.

The Welsh Government has even set up a taskforce to address the situation. Ger Hyland, the President of the Irish Road Haulage Association, welcomed the news but stressed the need for alternative options to avoid another holiday travel mess.
