ZURICH: So, Holcim just named Jan Jenisch as the CEO and chairman of its North American division. This comes after their big spin-off plan, which is pretty exciting. They’re looking at a potential market value of around $30 billion!

Jenisch has been with Holcim for a while, serving as CEO from 2017 to 2024. He’s been leading the charge to separate the North American business into its own entity. This move is all about taking advantage of the booming construction scene in the region.

They’re planning to wrap up this spin-off by the end of the first half of 2025. Holcim also announced nine other board members for the new North American company. It’s a big deal in the construction world, and everyone’s watching closely, especially competitors like Heidelberg Materials.

In addition to Jenisch’s new role, Holcim has named Kim Fausing as the new chairman for the remaining business. Fausing is currently the CEO of Danfoss and will take over after the AGM in May.

Jenisch called the board appointments a “milestone” for the North American business. This division has been doing really well, raking in about $11 billion in sales last year and growing at an impressive rate of 20% annually.

Holcim is even thinking about rebranding the North American operation and aims to boost annual sales to $20 billion by 2030, mainly through organic growth and some small acquisitions. Exciting times ahead!
