Plymouth: Exciting plans are in the works for Saltram House. They want to spruce up the place to make it more enjoyable for visitors. The renovations will include fresh decorations, new picture hanging rails, and electrical upgrades. They’re also looking to improve the stables with LED lighting and a changing place for visitors.

The idea is to turn four rooms in the house into flexible exhibition spaces. These will change every six months, giving folks a deeper look into the house’s rich history. The stables will also get a makeover to make it easier for everyone to access and enjoy the site.

Funding for this project will come from the National Trust and a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, pending a successful application in 2025. If all goes well, work could start in September 2025 and wrap up by September 2027.

The goal is to make Saltram a vibrant cultural hub where locals feel proud and connected. They want to open up more of the country park for public use, restore the historic landscapes, and enhance wildlife habitats. It’s all about creating better access and stronger ties for the community.

Plymouth City Council will review all the new applications soon, so stay tuned for updates on this and other projects in the area.
