Inmate Attempts to Kill Five Officers with Homemade Weapons in Prison
A dangerous inmate faces trial for attacking prison officers with makeshift weapons, including a sharpened spoon, in a series of violent incidents

Kent: Aklakar Rahman, a 38-year-old inmate, is in hot water for trying to kill five prison officers. He used some pretty wild homemade weapons, like a sharpened plastic spoon. Can you believe that?
This all went down at HMS Swaleside and Belmarsh jail in late 2022. Rahman is facing a serious list of charges, including attempted murder. The prosecutor laid it all out, saying he has a history of using makeshift weapons to attack officers.
At the time, he was already serving a life sentence for previous attempted murders. It seems like this guy has a real problem with authority, especially with prison staff. He’s been vocal about wanting to harm them, calling them derogatory names.
During one incident, he was being escorted to a shower when he punched an officer and stabbed another with a pen. Talk about a volatile situation! He didn’t stop there; he kept trying to kick and bite the officers who were just trying to do their jobs.
One officer described Rahman as unpredictable, saying he would just stop and stare at them, which was pretty unsettling. Another officer initially thought he was polite, but that quickly changed when Rahman turned aggressive.
It gets crazier. Rahman was found in his cell with a sharpened piece of plastic, threatening to stab an officer in the eye. He was later moved to Belmarsh, where he attacked more officers while shouting threats. He even admitted in a note that he was angry and felt mocked by the staff.
In a police interview, he claimed he didn’t mean to kill anyone and was just trying to provoke the officers. He’s denying all the charges, but it’s clear this guy has some serious issues. The trial is ongoing, and it’ll be interesting to see how it all unfolds.
