Inverness: The train lines in the Highlands and Moray are finally reopening after the chaos caused by Storm Éowyn over the weekend. It’s been a bit of a mess, but things are getting back on track.

Network Rail has been busy checking for damage and making repairs. They reported around 500 incidents, including 120 fallen trees on the tracks. Yikes!

Good news is that the lines to and from Inverness are back up, including routes to Kyle of Lochalsh, Wick, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen. The connection to Perth is also back in action.

If you’re traveling today, it’s a good idea to check the ScotRail app or website for the latest updates. They’re keeping everyone in the loop.

For those who can’t use their tickets or had to make other plans, ScotRail is offering full refunds with no extra fees. Plus, tickets bought can be used until January 31.

So, if you’re planning to travel, just stay updated and safe out there!
