Highland Council vows to give ‘incredibly dangerous’ broken railings beside new £2.5m Riverside Way, Inverness route ‘urgent attention’

Inverness: So, there’s been a bit of a stir about the railings along Riverside Way. People are worried they’re a real hazard. A dog walker spotted the broken railings and decided to raise the alarm.

These railings are right next to the River Ness and were just opened last month after a hefty £2.5 million investment. You’d think they’d be in better shape, right?

One local resident was pretty frustrated, asking why they didn’t replace the barriers when they spent so much money. They pointed out that the railings are now dangerous, with some parts broken and sticking out like spikes.

The Riverside Way was supposed to be a nice spot for walking, cycling, and wheeling. But now, it’s got this issue hanging over it.

A spokesperson from Highland Council said they know about the problem and are on it. They’ve got a fabricator lined up to fix the railings. But with winter weather kicking in, they’re focusing on that for now. Once the weather clears up, they’ll get those railings sorted out. Fingers crossed it happens soon!
