Inverness: So, it looks like Highland Council is stepping up to fix the bin collection mess in the city. They’re promising to get everything back on track by early next week.

People have been pretty vocal about their wheelie bins and food caddies not being emptied, especially in areas like Dalneigh and Merkinch. It’s been a bit of a nightmare, with some collections being two weeks late.

With all the recent high winds, there’s been rubbish blowing around everywhere, making things even worse. The council did say they warned folks about the changes to the collection schedule, but the bad weather after the holidays really threw a wrench in their plans.

A spokesperson mentioned that they had rescheduled collections during the festive season. They even put up stickers and online notices telling residents to leave their bins out if they weren’t emptied on the scheduled days.

While most areas managed okay, Inverness faced some hiccups. They’re hoping to catch up on missed collections soon and appreciate everyone’s patience during this messy situation.
