Hickory’s Smokehouse to open in Skelton on February 24

Skelton: Hickory’s Smokehouse is now taking bookings at Shipton Road. The grand opening is on Monday, February 24. This spot was previously the Riverside Farm carvery.

Recently, the Chester-based Smokehouse group has been busy transforming the venue. They’re bringing in BBQ menus inspired by America’s Deep South. Just this week, they received a smoker from the Southern States.

The new venue will have heated dining huts, a veranda, a chef’s bar, a cinema room, and a neighborhood bar area.

A spokesperson shared that the team is excited and in the final stages of training. They’re adding quirky, Southern-inspired touches to impress guests with true Southern hospitality.

More than 80 new jobs are available, and recruitment is already in progress. Hickory’s has been around for 15 years, with a new location opening last year in Adel, Leeds.

The menu focuses on BBQ, featuring classic dishes like Memphis ribs, Texas-style brisket, and BBQ pulled pork, all smoked low and slow in-house.

They also offer burgers, subs, steaks, fajitas, and vegetarian options. Plus, there will be fun desserts, milkshakes, sodas, cocktails, and over 25 bourbons to try, along with session ales and craft beers.
