Hexham: Sri Hollema, founder of Mat Zero, just won a big award! She was one of three women from the North East recognized at the Innovate UK Women in Innovation Awards.

These awards celebrate 50 amazing women from across the UK. They’re making waves in groundbreaking industries.

Mat Zero focuses on sustainable heating solutions. They help vulnerable communities worldwide.

Sri created a solar-heated mat for safe warmth. She saw families using dangerous heating methods like open fires.

The goal is to provide sustainable heating and fight energy poverty. This work can save lives.

Sri believes warmth is a basic human right. She said, “Our heated mat offers comfort while tackling energy poverty and climate issues.”
