Stamford: There’s a race night coming up that you won’t want to miss! It’s all for a great cause—raising funds for a 4×4 emergency medical vehicle.
The Helping Our Ukrainian Friends (HOUF) group is hosting this event at Burghley Park Golf Club on Saturday, February 1, starting at 6:30 PM.
But hurry! There are only a couple of tables left, and a few horses still up for grabs at just £10 each.
People are really excited, and tables are selling fast.
If you own a winning horse, you’ll get a prize from Stamford’s deputy mayor, Amanda Wheeler. How cool is that?
Plus, there’ll be a raffle and an auction with prizes donated by local businesses. It’s going to be a fun night!
Fiona Parker, a supporter of HOUF, expressed how proud they are of everyone involved in making this fundraiser happen.
They’ve previously delivered medivac 4x4s, so this is a cause they’re passionate about.
There’s even a raffle with awesome prizes, like a cooking class voucher with Rebecca Jordan at Kitchen Confident in Barrowden.
And don’t miss the auction baskets! One is a ‘Chocoholic’s Delight’ with six boxes of chocolates, and another is ‘Blissful Beauty’ with salon vouchers.
Oh, and there’s a dress code—think “let’s go to the races” and wear a hat for some fun photos!
They’re raising funds to help evacuate battlefield casualties in Ukraine after a local army medivac driver reached out for help.
Richard Astle, the HOUF chairman, is committed to finding a suitable vehicle and getting it to the driver’s unit soon.
Local Ukrainian volunteers will be there to help out, and there’ll be displays of medical equipment, including stretchers that are being used on the frontline.
