Anglesey: A search for a “high risk” man started early this morning. The police asked Holyhead Coastguard for help. They sent a helicopter and a local search and rescue team.

Môn-SAR was called to find a “vulnerable male” in Amlwch. North Wales Police alerted them at 2am. The helicopter took off from Caernarfon around 2:25am.

The Sikorsky helicopter flew over Porth Llechog before landing in a field near Burwen. By the time Môn-SAR arrived, the missing man was found safe and well.

A spokesperson said the team was called out at 2am to help with the search. Luckily, the helicopter located the man just as the team got there.

The helicopter stayed on site for about an hour before returning to base at 4:30am. Holyhead Coastguard was requested by the police to assist in the operation.
