Bolton: Helen Flanagan is in a bit of a pickle after being banned from driving for six months. She argued that this would make life really tough for her, especially since she lives in a remote area.

The former Coronation Street star, who’s 34, claimed her boyfriend was behind the wheel when her Audi got caught speeding twice last June. She ended up in Wirral Magistrates’ Court facing charges for not identifying the driver.

The magistrates weren’t convinced that a ban would cause her the “exceptional hardship” she mentioned, especially since she already had six points on her license. They hit her with a £2,000 fine, plus some extra costs.

Helen expressed that without a car, she’d struggle to get her kids to nursery and after-school activities. She’s a busy mum of three, and her financial situation isn’t great either. She mentioned that her income from social media varies a lot, and she’s just scraping by.

She also needed the car for therapy sessions and to meet her ex, Scott Sinclair, when the kids go to stay with him. Helen thought it was okay for Robbie to respond to the speeding fines, but that didn’t go over well in court.

When asked if Robbie could drive her car while she’s banned, she said it would really upset her. Her lawyer pointed out that she’s doing her best as a single mum. Helen even offered to pay the fine in installments, but she still got six penalty points for each offense. It’s a tough spot for her right now.
