London: Did you know that more than half of Brits think bringing their dog to work has helped them get promoted? It’s true! Dog behaviorist Anna Webb says there’s real science behind this. A study by Work.Life found that 63% of UK workers believe having their furry friends in the office has helped them climb the career ladder.

Anna explains that several studies show dogs are great for our health. They can lower stress and boost those feel-good hormones like oxytocin. Research from Michigan University found that teams with a dog around were more cooperative and friendly compared to those without. Sounds like a win-win, right?

With all these benefits, it’s easy to see why someone bringing a dog to work might catch the eye of their boss. Plus, a study from Washington State University showed that just petting a dog for 10 minutes can significantly reduce stress levels. It’s like a little therapy session right at your desk!

Anna also points out that every dog is unique. A well-socialized and trained pup can really bring that “pet effect” to the office. But it’s important for everyone to be consistent and mindful about their behavior around the dog. After all, we don’t want any unwanted antics during work hours!

Elliot Gold, co-founder of Work.Life, adds that dog-friendly offices are changing the workplace vibe. They’re not just a fun perk; they’re boosting moods and strengthening team bonds. It’s no surprise that 76% of people surveyed felt their dog made them more popular at work. And get this—53% said a dog-friendly workplace is even more important than their salary!
