Haydock: Exciting news for racing fans! Simon Tonge is set to take over as the new manager at Haydock Park Racecourse in April 2025. He’s got loads of experience and a real passion for the sport.
Before this, he was the executive director at Bath Racecourse since 2022. So, he knows his stuff! He’s stepping in for Molly Day, who’s off to chase new adventures in the USA.
Simon expressed his excitement, saying he’s thrilled to join such a prestigious venue in the racing world. He’s particularly looking forward to working at a place that hosts both Grade 1 and Group 1 races.
He’s eager to team up with the talented crew at Haydock to keep building on its great reputation. Dickon White from The Jockey Club shared his delight in welcoming Simon, noting that his leadership will be a perfect fit.
April is a smart time for Simon to start, just before the busy summer season kicks off. They’re all confident he’ll make a big impact on the racecourse’s success.
