Larry Nance Jr., Atlanta Hawks, NBA, Hand Surgery, Injury
Atlanta: So, Larry Nance Jr. is going to be out for a bit. He’s been a solid player for the Hawks, especially during their recent winning streak. His contributions, like those 9.5 points per game, really help the team.
Unfortunately, he fractured a bone in his right hand. The Hawks announced that he’ll have surgery on Thursday to fix it up. This is actually his second hand surgery, which is a bummer.
He’s expected to be out for about a month. Last time he had a similar injury, he missed 12 games. Fingers crossed he heals up quickly this time!
Even though Nance hasn’t played a ton this season, he’s been a reliable backup. With Clint Capela and Onyeka Okongwu ahead of him, he’s had to step up more lately since Okongwu has been dealing with a knee issue.
He’s on an $11.2 million contract this season, and he’ll be a free agent next summer. It’ll be interesting to see how this affects his future with the team.
