Fleet: The Hart District Council is stepping up to support the Armed Forces community with some new grants. They’re using funds from the Armed Forces Community Support Fund to help local groups improve their services for service members, veterans, and their families.

These grants are going towards some pretty cool projects. We’re talking about support hubs for kids, cadets, and veterans, plus a new drum corps and educational tools for cadet groups. It’s all about making life a bit better for those who serve.

And there’s more! The funding will also help young folks from military and civilian families earn accredited qualifications through the Youth Voice Ambassador Scheme. It’s a great way to give them a leg up.

Cllr Stuart Bailey, who’s in charge of community matters at Hart District Council, mentioned that they’re committed to ensuring the Armed Forces community has access to their services without any disadvantages. This funding is a step towards keeping that promise.

Several community groups are benefiting from this funding, including the Army Welfare Service Community Support Team in Church Crookham, Long Sutton Primary School in Hook, and others in Fleet and Yateley. It’s a real team effort to improve the quality of life for service families and veterans.
