London: A woman named Harshita Brella, 24, was found dead in a car boot in East London. Her husband, Pankaj Lamba, is the main suspect and is believed to have left the country, according to the police.
Harshita went missing from her home in Corby, Northamptonshire, a day before her body was discovered near a park last Thursday. The police held a press conference in Kettering to update the public on the investigation.
Authorities revealed that Harshita had a Domestic Violence Protection Order against a man, whose name has not been disclosed. This order was issued in September and prevented the man from contacting her or visiting her workplace.
The police have referred themselves to a watchdog since they had previous contact with Harshita. Chief Inspector Paul Cash stated they suspect that Harshita was murdered by her husband earlier this month in Northamptonshire. They believe he moved her body to Ilford by car.
Detectives are working hard to find out what happened, including the exact time and place of her death. Over 60 detectives are involved in the case, and searches are ongoing in Corby.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud argument in Harshita’s home the night before she disappeared. One neighbor described it as an aggressive fight, mentioning a woman’s scared voice. She did not call the police, thinking it was just a couple’s dispute.
Another local said the police asked about any suspicious men in the area. Many in the community are shocked and saddened by Harshita’s tragic death. They expressed concern about safety in their neighborhood.
Investigations continue as the police gather more information. The community is left in disbelief, hoping for answers regarding Harshita’s untimely death.
