Toronto Surpasses St. John’s in Snowfall This Winter Season
Toronto is experiencing an unexpected winter, outpacing St. John’s in snowfall, which is unusual for Canada’s snowiest city

Toronto: This winter has been a bit wild, hasn’t it? While most of Canada is bundled up, Toronto is getting more snow than St. John’s, which is usually the snow champ.
St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, usually gets around 335 cm of snow each year. But this season, things are looking different. Instead of snow, they’ve been getting a lot of rain—248.6 mm to be exact, with only 32.8 cm of snow so far.
Can you believe the biggest snow day there was just 6.8 cm? That’s pretty weak for a city known for its snow. Meanwhile, Toronto has racked up 36.6 cm already, which is quite the surprise!
It seems like the weather is playing tricks on us. An active storm track is pushing warm air into St. John’s, making it feel more like spring than winter. But don’t count them out just yet; there’s still a chance for some snow in the coming days.
As we move into late January, both cities might see more snow, especially if that cold Arctic air makes its way down. Fingers crossed for a good snowstorm!
