Cooma: So, here’s the scoop. Former cop Kristian White is back in the spotlight, but this time he’s fighting to keep his job. He was fired by the NSW Police Commissioner after being found guilty of manslaughter in the tragic case of 95-year-old Clare Nowland.

Nowland passed away after White tasered her at a nursing home last May. It was a tough trial, lasting eight days, where he pleaded not guilty. But the jury took four days to decide he was guilty of unlawfully killing her.

After the verdict, Commissioner Karen Webb wasted no time and dismissed him from the force on December 3. She stated she didn’t have confidence in his ability to serve as a police officer anymore.

But White isn’t going down without a fight. He’s taken his case to the Industrial Relations Commission, challenging his dismissal. His hearing is set for December 19, and it’s already making waves.

Throughout the trial, White was on paid suspension, but that changed right after the jury’s decision. The jury heard that he had warned Nowland multiple times before he decided to taser her, which led to her tragic fall and eventual death a week later.
