Santa Clara: So, Dre Greenlaw had quite the return to the field with the 49ers against the Rams. He really made his presence felt in the first half, racking up eight tackles. But, you could tell something was off as he walked after the game.
He played hard, but by the third quarter, he was on the sidelines without his helmet. He ended up sitting out the rest of the game. Afterward, he mentioned that his knee felt a bit weird, and he wanted to play it safe. Smart move, right?
Greenlaw said his Achilles felt good, but it was his knee that was bothering him. Fingers crossed that the long weekend helps him recover before their next game against the Dolphins.
Despite the discomfort, he was just happy to be back with his teammates. The defense did a solid job keeping the Rams from scoring, which is no small feat.
He expressed how great it felt to be out there again, running around with his brothers on the field. It’s clear he missed the game a lot.
Looking ahead, Greenlaw is set to be a free agent in 2025. The 49ers would love to keep him, but he might be looking for a bigger contract than they can offer. Either way, he’s definitely going to be playing somewhere in the NFL.
After being away for 10 months, he really appreciates the game now. He even joked about missing the chance to let out some frustration by hitting people on the field. It’s all part of what makes football so special for him.
